Original Storyline

Our film follows the incredible odyssey of Tuktu, a caribou, across the vast Nunavik and James Bay regions -providing us with a unique opportunity to discover the wild beauty of northern Quebec and Labrador.

The epic journey begins in June, when female caribou come together at the calving grounds. For decades, this vital part of their migratory cycle has taken place in the same area, south-east of Kuujjuaq, in Northern Quebec. Here, with the tundra as our backdrop, we witness the birth of our film's star, Tuktu (the name means "caribou" in the Inuit language).
