Great North wins again!
Montreal, October 18th 2001
The IMAX® film Great North took home awards for both «
Best Feature Film » and « Best Cinematography »
at the Long Beach International Film Festival held last month.
Its the third time this year that Great North has been rewarded
by film festivals. Great North was chosen the top film at the 6th
annual Film Festival of La Géode in Paris in February. At
the Real to Reel Film Festival in Shelby North Carolina, Great North
was presented with the « Best Documentary » award. The
film is also a nominee at the next Banff Mountain Film Festival
which will be held from October 29th to November 4th.
Great North is an exceptional film about the Québec north
that focuses on life above the arctic circle and the migration of
reindeer and caribou. Director Martin J. Dignard and his crew devoted
more than four years to developing and making this movie, which
one critic hailed as « the most beautiful film ever made about
the north (
) a masterpiece of cinematography ».
In Canada, Great North can be seen in Montréal, Toronto
and Edmonton.
