Great North wins again!
Montreal, October 18th 2001

The IMAX® film Great North took home awards for both « Best Feature Film » and « Best Cinematography » at the Long Beach International Film Festival held last month.

It’s the third time this year that Great North has been rewarded by film festivals. Great North was chosen the top film at the 6th annual Film Festival of La Géode in Paris in February. At the Real to Reel Film Festival in Shelby North Carolina, Great North was presented with the « Best Documentary » award. The film is also a nominee at the next Banff Mountain Film Festival which will be held from October 29th to November 4th.

Great North is an exceptional film about the Québec north that focuses on life above the arctic circle and the migration of reindeer and caribou. Director Martin J. Dignard and his crew devoted more than four years to developing and making this movie, which one critic hailed as « the most beautiful film ever made about the north (…) a masterpiece of cinematography ».

In Canada, Great North can be seen in Montréal, Toronto and Edmonton.
