Great North, Dolphins and Haunted Castle won the 6th La Geode Festival
Paris, February 5, 2001

The 6th La Geode Festival closed on February 4, 2001. 39000 spectators attended the two weeks of screenings and a quarter of them took part in the voting, rating the films from 0 to 5 after each presentation. The competition featured 12 films* from North America, Australia, Belgium, Germany and Austria.

- Public award
The film most highly rated by the public was «Dolphins», directed and produced by Greg MacGillivray.

- Youth award
Two classes of 10 year-old from local schools saw all the films. They voted for «Haunted castle» directed and produced by Ben Stassen from nWave-pictures.

- The “Grand Prix” was awarded to “Great North” directed by Martin Dignard and William Reeve, produced by TVA international.

The jury was composed by Renato Berta (director of photography), Jim Marchbank (Chief Executive Officer at Science North), Agnès Michaux (journalist/Canal+), Stéphane Millière (producer/Gédeon), Dominique Rigaud (Producer/Rigaud Productions) Philippe Sarde (composer) and Serge Siritzky (President of the professional magazine Ecran Total, “Full Screen.
